Since the 1991-1992 school year, the Loudoun Education Foundation has given over 1.5 million dollars to support the teachers and students of Loudoun County Public Schools. The Loudoun Education Foundation’s goal of strengthening the quality of the Loudoun County Public School system is achieved in part through grants to teachers, student organizations, and parent support groups for innovative academic projects.
The Foundation focuses on making connections with individuals, organizations and local businesses interested in supporting educational programs and activities within our schools. The focus is on identifying and supporting programs that will enhance the educational experience our children receive during their time in our schools and investing in our teachers and administrators as they seek a higher level of educational excellence. read more
Part of the Mission of the Foundation is to not only invest in our students and teachers and encourage them to strive for excellence, but to also celebrate when such excellence is achieved. The 2014 "GiveChoose Loudoun Fauquier" Campaign is an opportunity for friends of LEF to make online donations of $10 or more. The Piedmont Community Foundation set up the 24-hour event to support local charities. LEF will reach out soon to friends, family and partners soon to encourage donations. Your gifts are appreciated!
We are still in need of corporate sponsors for the Outstanding Teacher Recognition Dinner, which honors LCPS teachers nominated for the Washington Post Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Award. Please contact Dawn Meyer if you would like to be part of this special event. Dinner is on Friday, May 30th at the Belmont Country Club at 6:00 PM.
The Foundation contributed $1,000 to the LCPS Social Science Awards, an annual event for local high school students. Come out to see the entries on Thursday, June 5th at Tuscarora High School at 6:00 PM. The event is free and open to the public.
